- To establish a bridge over the River Wharfe at Burley in Wharfedale.
- To raise the necessary finance for the construction of the bridge and subsequent maintenance of the completed project.
- To liaise with other agencies to ensure the linking up of the bridge with existing footpaths and bridle ways.
- To publicise the bridge project and the benefits of a bridge over the River Wharfe at Burley in Wharfedale.
